Share Trends
This page shows a list of index's, ETF's & popular stocks listed on the ASX and shows what type of trend they are in. This list is
generally updated on Friday's.
This is calulated by:
- Firstly, the standard deviation of the previous 52 weeks is calculated (eg: if the trend is calculated on a Friday,
the standard deviation of the last 52 Fridays leading up to that date. If there is no data avaliable on a Friday no data is avaliable,
it will either be left out or the data from the previous trading day will be used).
- If the closing price is greater than the 200 day simple moving average plus one standard deviation,
the trend is said to be "Bullish". If the closing price is within the one standard deviation of the 200 day
simple moving average, the trend is said to be "Neutral". If the closing price is less than the 200 day simple
moving average minus one standard deviation, the trend is said to be "Bearish".
