Sample Portfolio.
This page shows a sample portfolio based upon the following trading stratergy:
- On the 30th of December 2019, the portfolio will start with $100,000
- The portfolio initially invests equal amounts (rounded to the nearest whole share) in the 10 most Bullish
stocks according to the Current Share Trends page (this will be based upon data from the 27th of December 2019,
due to the page being updated every Friday) at their opening prices on the 30th of December 2019.
- On the first trading day of each week (usually Monday), any share that is no longer "Bullish" according to the Share Trend Status
page will be sold at it's opening price.
- On the second trading day of each week (usually Tuesday), an equal portion of the avaliable funds (rounded to the nearest whole share)
will be invested in the most bullish stock that is not already part of the portfolio at the opening price. If no bullish stocks that are not
already in the portfolio are avaliable, the funds will be kept as cash until the following Tuesday.
- Each trade is assumed to incur transaction costs of $20 per trade.
- For all stocks purchased on or after the 30th of March 2020, in addition to the stock being bullish, the volume must also be greater
than it was the prior week. This is because many of the losing trades for the portfolio happened because the stocks were losing momentum
and this is less likey to occur if there the volume remains high. This criteria will be ignored if the volume for all stocks is 0 for either
Friday due to there being no trading on that day.
